Tulsa Horse Boarding - West Canyon Stables

Current Status: 1

Your horse is valuable - we understand that.. Located between Tulsa, Jenks and Sapulpa is West Canyon Ranch, a great  place to keep your  horse.

We prioritize the comfort and well being of your horse, giving you peace of mind while boarding. Specializing in retired horses, we are experienced in caring for horses in all stages of life. Your horse can choose to stay in the barn if preferred, or go outside without restriction. Each horse has it's own preferences and we allow for them.

Years of experience with horses provide us with the credentials needed to care for your horse in a professional and compassionate manner.

Our program provides routine Veterinarian and Farrier care with experienced professionals for year round routine health care, or you can schedule your own. We also have a 24 hour veterinary service for emergencies.

Close to Tulsa and Room to ride. We are just a 3 minute drive from the Tulsa Hills Shopping Center and if you enjoy riding your horse, we have a fenced perimeter path that surrounds the ranch for riding.

Tulsa Horse Boarding

Rescues on the Ranch

We are also caring for rescued horses at Tulsa Horse Boarding. They are safe here and no longer need to worry about their next meal or wellness concerns. However, they do add to the cost of feed, farrier care, supplies, etc.

To offset this, we have started a "foster" opportunity for a few horse lovers who enjoy the companionship of a horse, but cannot provide the daily lifestyle a horse needs.

Our first Caretaker came looking for space to rescue a horse. She was willing to explore building a relationship with a rescue horse already living here at the ranch and they formed a relationship built on trust and mutual appreciation. Here is a bit of her story...

If you would like more information in helping to support and care for a horse, please text me at (918) 706-6127 and we visit about what that could look like. Each person, like each horse has individual needs and expectations. We try to create a good match.

If it is on your heart to get involved with these horses, we welcome others to be a part of these horses lives. A bag of grain is $24.95, Bales of hay are $8.00, Spring & fall shots are $124.00 unless the need something - then it is more. These are a few of the basics. Even after a horse recovers from lack of food and neglect, they still need daily care and resources.

Shown are Lucy & Phoenix. They got together and set up a Go-Fund_Me page to keep the groceries coming in.

Dedicated Horse Care

Why open stalls? We believe that among a horse's basic needs are freedom to move around and socialization.  A horse's herd instinct is very strong and much comfort is derived from grazing or scratching or just swishing tails with another horse.

Our open stall policy affords your horse the opportunity to participate in these activities or to stand inside to escape the sun or insects. It also provides a solution when inclement weather suddenly approaches. Your horse can choose to go inside without having to wait for someone to move them indoors. We like to give them credit for knowing when to come in out of the rain.

Reviews:

My old guys have been here almost 2 years and are very happy. They have received very good care and look great at 28 and 32. Good accommodations, good food, good oversight of their condition has kept them happy and healthy. I get a prompt call if there is any issue that needs to be addressed with these old ones. I am pleased to have found a great place for them to retire to when I had to move out of state and could not take them. They are happy and so am I. Would highly recommend.~K. Saban

Excellent barn have boarded my horse here for over a year, excellent care, owner feeds premium feed, lives on property so horses are monitored 24 hours. Lovely pasture area, horses have room to roam but also a nice barn to come in out of the elements. Definitely recommend!!! C. Allen

I have been boarding my older mare at West Canyon Stables for 2 1/2 years. She has been very well taken care of and is very happy there. She has plenty of room to roam and enjoy the outdoors as well as access to her stall to come in to nap or out of the weather at anytime she desires. The owners top priority is the care of the horses and their happiness. She schedules all vet and farrier visits and has excellent communication with me concerning my horse. The stable is in a beautiful, peaceful location. I highly recommend! ~L. Lewis

I would highly recommend West Canyon Stables for anyone that wants the best living situation for their horse. I started boarding my Quarter Horse "Pal" there when I had to move from Mounds and take a job in Los Angles. I could not bring Pal with me for this job and I feel very fortunate to have found such a perfect place for Pal. I have to be away from my horse to make a living in this messed up economy but knowing that he is getting the best of TLC makes it a lot easier. Lisa is great and she is a very knowledgeable professional and genuinely cares for the well being of all the horses she boards.
